ABSTRACT
Less, As, More. Resilent spatial strategies is an articulated and organic research on the meanings and the possibilities of the architectural project in our fragmented and unstable contemporary territories.

Analyzing an international overview of contexts, this research is aimed to stress on the “extension” of the design experience in three directions, which are: subtraction (Less), confirmation and critical reading of the existing (As), enhancement not only of the physical matter but also of its use (More).

Less, As, More has been finally organized and edited in the form of a book-catalog, designed as an open diagram without a rigid structure. It is composed by a general introduction, 4 theoretical essays and 15 case studies divided in relation to the strategy proposed (Less, As, More, Reuse). Between these, it echoes the constant presence of interference and cross-references to both the world of architecture and that of visual arts and literature. The essays are supported by several schemes, infographics and images to facilitate and to expand the reading experience.

Less, As, More wants to disrupt the assumption that “progress” is equivalent to “increase” and to act as a study tool for new sensibilities in architectural and urban development, starting from what we already built in our territories.
